2. What Information Do We Collect?
2.1 Information That Is Necessary For The Use Of Our Services.
We ask for and collect the following personal information. This information is necessary for the adequate performance of the contract between you and us and to allow us to comply with our legal obligations. Without it, we may not be able to provide you with all the requested services.
Account Information When you sign up for a Seasy Account, we require certain information such as your first name, last name, email address, and date of birth.
Boat information. Before you can book a berth we require information about your boat such as boat registration number (CIN/HIN), boat name, type, manufacturer, length, width, draft, year of manufacture, hull number, country of origin etc.
Profile Information. To use certain features of the Seasy application (such as berth booking), we may ask you to provide additional information, which may include your address and phone number.
Marina information. If you are a marina owner, we will collect information about your marina such as its location, services around, pictures, berth availability information, prices, amenities, website URL and other relevant information.
Identity Verification Information. To help create and maintain a trusted environment, we may collect identity verification information (such as images of your government-issued ID, passport, national ID card, or driving license, as permitted by applicable laws) or other authentication information.
Payment Information. To use certain features of the Seasy application (such as booking a berth or managing a marina’s bookings), we may require you to provide certain financial information (like your bank account or credit card information) in order to facilitate the processing of payments. Messaging. When you communicate with Seasy or use the Seasy application to communicate with other Members, we collect information about your communication and any information you choose to provide.
2.2 Information You Can Choose To Give Us.
You may choose to provide us with additional personal information in order to obtain a better user experience when using our application. This additional information will be processed based on our best interest.
Any Additional Profile Information. You may choose to provide additional information as part of your Seasy profile (such as gender, preferred language(s), city of origin).
Address Book Contact Information. You may choose to import your address book contacts or enter your contacts’ information manually to access certain features of the Seasy application, like inviting them to use Seasy.
Other Information. You may otherwise choose to provide us information when you fill in a form, update or add information to your Account, respond to surveys, communicate with our customer support, share your experience with us, or use other features of the Seasy application.
2.3 Information that is necessary for the use of the payment service.
Our payments provider needs to collect the following information necessary for the adequate performance of the contract with you and to comply with applicable law (such as anti-money laundering regulations). Without it, you will not be able to use payment service:
Payment Information. When you use the payment service, the payment provider requires certain financial information (like your bank account or credit card information) in order to process payments and comply with applicable law.
Identity Verification and Other Information. If you are a Marina, the Payments Data Controller may require information about your business (such as company name, VAT-ID, address, country, etc), to provide the payment service to you, and to comply with applicable law.
2.4 Information We Automatically Collect When You Use Our Services.
When you use our services, we automatically collect personal information about how you use them. This information is necessary for the adequate performance of the contract between you and us, to enable us to comply with legal obligations and given our legitimate interest in being able to provide and improve the functionalities of our services.
Geo-location Information. When you use certain features of the Seasy application, we may collect information about your precise or approximate location as determined through data such as your IP address or mobile device’s GPS to offer you an improved user experience. Most mobile devices allow you to control or disable the use of location services for applications in the device’s settings menu. Seasy may also collect this information even when you are not using the app if this connection is enabled through your settings or device permissions.
Usage Information. We collect information about your interactions with the Seasy application such as the pages or content you view, your searches for Marinas, bookings you have made, and other actions on the Seasy application.
Log Data and Device Information. We automatically collect log data and device information when you access and use the Seasy application, even if you have not created an Seasy Account or logged in. That information includes, among other things: details about how you’ve used the Seasy application (including if you clicked on links to third-party applications), IP address, access dates and times, hardware and software information, device information, device event information, unique identifiers, crash data, cookie data, and the pages you’ve viewed or engaged with before or after using the Seasy application.
Do Not Track Signals. While you may disable the usage of cookies through your browser settings, the Seasy application currently does not respond to a “Do Not Track” signal in the HTTP header from your browser or mobile application.
Payment Transaction Information. We collect information related to your payment transactions through the Seasy application, including the payment instrument used, date and time, payment amount, payment instrument expiration date and billing postcode, PayPal email address, IBAN information, your address and other related transaction details. This information is necessary for the adequate performance of the contract between you and payment service and to allow the provision of the payments.
2.5 Third Party Information
Seasy may collect information, including personal information, that others provide about you when they use the Seasy application, or obtain information from other sources and combine that with information we collect through the Seasy application. We do not control, supervise or respond to how the third parties providing your information process your Personal Information, and any information request regarding the disclosure of your personal information to us should be directed to such third parties.
Third-Party Services. If you link, connect, or login to your Seasy Account with a third-party service (e.g. Google, Facebook), the third-party service may send us information such as your registration, friends list, and profile information from that service. This information varies and is controlled by that service or as authorized by you via your privacy settings at that service.
Referrals. If you are invited to Seasy, the person who invited you may submit personal information about you such as your email address or other contact information.
Other Sources. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we may receive additional information about you, such as demographic data or information to help detect fraud and safety issues, from third-party service providers and/or partners, and combine it with information we have about you. For example, we may receive background check results (with your consent where required) or fraud warnings from service providers like identity verification services for our fraud prevention and risk assessment efforts. We may receive information about you and your activities on and off the Seasy application through partnerships, or about your experiences and interactions from our partner ad networks.
3. How Do We Use Your Information?
We may use the information that we collect from you when you register to use the Website, purchase services from the Website, surf the Website, or use certain features of the Website in the following ways.
- enable you to use our application
- process your transactions
- enable you to communicate with Marinas and vice versa
- send you notifications and messages
- personalise your experience
- provide customer support
- prevent spam and fraud
- resolve disputes
- send marketing messages, promotions and surveys
- personalise our advertising
- improve our services
- market our products
4. Do We Disclose the Information We Collect to Outside Parties?
We generally do not sell to, trade with, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information unless we provide you with advance notice, except as described herein. The term “outside parties” does not include website hosting partners, payment processors, and other parties who assist us in operating our Website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. In the event that we sell our company, or otherwise transfer any assets of our company, we may provide your information to the purchaser so that you may continue the relationship or business with us and our products. We may also release your information when we believe that release is necessary to comply with law, enforce the policies of our Website or protect our or others’ rights, property or safety.
However, non-personally identifiable information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising or other uses.
5. Safeguarding Your Personal Information.
We follow generally accepted industry security standards to safeguard and help prevent unauthorized access, maintain data security and correctly use personal identification and financial information. However, no commercial method of information transfer over the Internet or electronic data storage is known to be 100% secure. As a result, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of such information during its transmission or its storage in our systems, and you should always take care to safeguard your personal information.

Under California’s “Shine the Light” law, California residents who provide personal information in obtaining services for personal, family or household use are entitled to request and obtain from us once per calendar year information about the customer information that we shared, if any, with other businesses for their own direct marketing uses. If applicable, this information would include the categories of customer information and the names and addresses of those businesses with which we shared customer information for the calendar year previous to such request (e.g. requests made in 2014 will receive information regarding 2013 sharing activities).
To obtain this information from us, please send an email message to firstname.lastname@example.org with “Request for California Privacy Information” in the subject line and in the body of your message. We will then email you the requested information. Not all information sharing is covered by the “Shine the Light” requirements and only information on covered sharing will be included in our response.
